Advent Calendar #7 – 24 Days of Free Music Downloads

We’re one week in to this year’s Advent Calendar and today we have a double helping of free music downloads for you to enjoy.

I,Awake_2000_2000

Medway post-rock instrumentalists Upcdownc are no strangers to the pages of this calendar, and they’re back this year with a track from their recent album I, Awake.  We’ll let them introduce it themselves:

‘Looming, Part 2’ is taken from the new album I, Awake that was released in September on Double Gatefold Vinyl and CD. The concept behind the music and artwork is based on the idea of sleep, dreams, nightmares and fears coupled with extreme anxiety and night terrors. I, Awake explores the transitions between sleep and waking life. For fans of Horror synths, Swans and Black Sabbath.

IN ARCADIA

There’s no Upcdownc festive track this year, but stepping into the breach is guitarist Chris Garth’s side-project In Arcadia, whose track ‘Eve’ makes up the second part of today’s double treat.  Here’s Chris on the track:

In Arcadia is the side project of Upcdownc’s guitarist Chris Garth influenced by the soundtrack works of John Carpenter and Brad Fiedel and vintage synth sounds. A full album is marked for release in 2018. ‘Eve’ is a special Christmas track recorded on Wurlitzer piano as an homage to the Edward Scissorhands Soundtrack.
