Track #1: Mi Mye – I’m Dreaming of a

The small West Yorkshire city of Wakefield may be better known as a hotbed of Rugby League than of rock & roll, but with the likes of The Spills, Runaround Kids, St. Gregory Orange and today’s featured bands Mi Mye and Piskie Sits, Philophobia have consistently unearthed gems from the former mining town.

Mi Mye, formerly the solo project of frontman Jamie Lockhart and now expanded to a five-piece, released a new album, The Sympathy Sigh, released jointly by Philophobia and Hide & Seek Records in August.  Their Christmas single ‘I’m Dreaming Of A’ (also a Philophobia/Hide & Seek joint), came out on Sunday and we have it for your listening pleasure today.

Track #2: Piskie Sits – Christmas Eve (Die Hard, Home Alone, Elf)

Labelmates Piskie Sits also released a Christmas single last week with a punky ode to humbuggery and festive hypocrisy ‘Christmas Eve (Die Hard, Home Alone, Elf)’.

They released their third album Stick & Twist in November and rounded off 2016 with a hometown Christmas single launch party at Unity Works.
