Video of the Day: Lushes – Circus

Brooklyn-based duo Lushes have thrown the rule book out of the window for the vidoe for new single ‘Circus’, working with non-profit organisation OMG Everywhere they handed over complete creative control to a group of children who had been part of OMG’s filmmaking workshops.  The kids listened to the track, came up with the concept and then directed, starred in and shot the film, which also features band members James Ardery and Joel Myers.  All in one day.

And as noteworthy as its accompanying video is, the track itself is more than worthy of your attention, from it’s openning scrawl of sax to the world weary vocal delivery to the two-note groove that underpins everything.  ‘Circus’, taken from forthcoming album Service Industry (released on 16th October through Felte), deals with the drudgery of working a job that you hate and in which you feel devalued and disrespected.
